Ev gets geared for Chinese New Year

I took these pics early this morning of a delighted Ev in his outfit which he wore to school today for their Chinese New Year celebrations and thought I'd use a mo during lunch break to post them - he's on holiday from tomorrow until Tuesday and delighted about that too.

Zara and Ariel - black and whites

Your Aussie cousins are very lekker little kids, full of life and love.

Melbourne and one of Ange

Not sure how well this will format - but I do like this HDR pop art shot - pity little Ariel was not closer and further to the right, but he is still in it making it a whole family photo - and I love Zara's pose, the sky and the raging sunlight over melbourne in the distance - cool

This one was taken by Zara - we were having a cackle about the way she was turning the camera to take a portrait type shot - no idea where she got that from, but she sort of knew she had to do it - came out so nicely - I also processed this pop-art HRD - and yes I did dye my hair white - not entirely sure why - had an hour and a bit to kill and thought I've wanted to do this for 20 years ...

How ripping is this photo!? BOOOM - psychedelic sky - lens flare - Ange on the point of thirds - the watching floodlights - the sun halo - I just DIG it. It's got nothing to do with Aus though - just wanted to put it up.

More with the gel flash

I think I'm going to have to learn some new tricks - pretty restricted to the tungsten blue effect. I think it worked well on these two quite similar portraits of Simon - this is why I can't seem to shake it - it just keeps on delivering.

The lovely Finn

This is Finn, getting a kiss from his mom Melissa; my dear friend Simon's family.

Pics from the hols and since

Sometimes the blog co-operates with spacing - and sometimes IT JUST FRUSTRATES THE SENSE OUT OF ME. So treat this one like a competition - can you fit the captions to the photos - because I can't spatially. Here goes for one more try, otherwise, good luck.

Aiden becomes the first fast McGillivray in history - thanks to his mom's genes it needs to be said (I was always last on the track, and I think Geordie was a disaster too if I remember correctly). Click on the pic to see the background - world's most pictureque athletics oval.

Aiden and Ev in Sai Kung - gel flash and tungsten for the cool sky. Aiden's armed with snakeboard, Ev with his scooter.

Aiden, Daisy and Ethan on Ping Chau island, at a shrine. Next to it was a well, when you looked in you could see turtles swimming around (!) We stayed with Roy, Ruth, Daisy and Ethan once in Durban with you, the time we went to U-Shaka. I had a real blast, and have told the boys about it - they're keen.

Chilling under a Ping Chau pagoda.

Ev is the king of Bovril - absolutely adicted to the stuff - so he eats it most of the time. Check that little Bovril boep. Catching some too.

Aiden

Set up some lights to do these shots for a calendar - Aiden, Jordan, Daisy and Ev.

Aiden and Ev (Bovril on face of course).

Mmm.

Me, by Dylan

I really like this photo - Dylan and Courtney - such nice people - and real affection between them which comes out in this pic.

On Christmas day - the four of us at Tracy and Simon's house
Ethan, Daisy and Ev

Ev waiting for the school bus with Aiden. Aiden catches it at 7.40am. Ev's comes at 8.45am.

Rob's selling his Range Rover, so I took some pics of it. Nice sky I thought. The car is pretty, unreliable
