Spiderman photo

Aiden is very photogenic. I took this pic of him at his friend Garry's party; it was a Spiderman party, but only Aiden and Garry seemed to take this seriously. So there were two spidermen. Half way through a clown who juggled and did tricks arrived. The clown's magic stick had an unmagic moment and landed on Aiden's head; he wept. Later on Evan managed to break a big vase in the house. The McGillivray's left somewhat bashful. So good to talk to you today. You're so grown up, it catches me each time.

This is Allie Free, my friend Brett's daughter in a daylight flash portrait - I really like it.

Naked flight

Aiden behaving himself before bath-time while a concerned Ange prevents Evan from getting landed on.

The Elephant in yellow

This is the Elephant in Shenzhen - its a super-nice dimsum restaurant, with a very groovy decor and light.

Wet car on a misty night

Last night was super misty as cold air collided with the day's warm and humid above our house. We had a braai and sat outside with Jens and Camilla and ate in the finest of very fine rain. When they left I saw this car in the parking lot - super even droplets and nice lines. The last two photos below are identical - the camera was in the same postition on a tripod - they are just lit from different sides. Design dependent on light. Hope you like them.

A bit of space for the Maggs clan?

Hope you don't mind - I thought I'd use a bit of space on your blog for a message for my cuzzies: Tx, LD

Africa Prints

I'm going to get this photo of you and Aiden and some big Africa landscape prints done on vinyl for our house at a new print place that I found in Chaiwan - I think they are going to be super groovy - here the others are - the tide going out of the Knysna lagoon and two from KZN from a little photo-drive I went on with your Gran which she might remember. Africa has got THE light - nothing that I've seen at any stage in Asia can compare.

Off to mainland China now - Shenzhen - should be a nice day's adventure - I'll take some picks for you, starts with a train ride to Lo Wu, and then into the Great Building Site.

Holding up

Happy new year - I hope its a really good one for all of us. No great news from this side - another melting time hol - day. I've been woefully ill-disciplined; failed to even make a start on building the boat engine stand I intended to complete between Christmas and here. I did get it together to go to some friends of our's house to dismantle, pack onto and into and around my car, drive home, carry upstairs and reassemble a bunk bed for Aiden and Evan. Aiden was so excited that he was quivvering. Needless to say he sleeps on the top. Ev has no say, and is currently still confined to his cot because Ange does not want him roaming around in the middle of the night - which I concede he would do. Hope you're having a good time.
